Honey Lime Lip Gloss

If you love lemonade or limenade, you will absolutely love the taste and flavor of honey lime lip gloss.

In this recipe, the honey will be used as a natural humectant, which means it attracts and retains moisture. The sweetness of honey will also gives a sweet and pleasant smell and flavor to this lip gloss.

The lime is a rich source of Vitamin C and antiseptic, thus making it a great active ingredient to protect the lips from the sun and neutralizes free radicals.

To provide softening and soothing effect to the lips, a few drop of almond oil will also be used. The almond oil will also provide the glossy feel to the lip gloss.

The final ingredient to this recipe would be Vitamin E, which is essential to help the lips look younger by reducing the appearances of fine lines.

Ingredients

To make this delicious lip gloss, you will need the following:

1 tablespoon of sweet almond oil

1 teaspoon of honey

1 drop of vitamin E oil

5 drops of lime essential oil

2 teaspoon of beeswax

Method:

  1. Mix the beeswax and sweet almond oil into a microwave-safe bowl.  Microwave for two minutes or until the mixture just begins to boil.
  2. Take the mixture out and add in the Vitamin E and lime essential oil into the mixture. (Caution: The lip gloss is very hot)
  3. Next, add in the honey. Cool mixture for five minutes.
  4. Stir again and set aside to cool completely.
  5. When cool, transfer into a small portable plastic container or tin.

Chrysanthemum Tea for the Influenza Season

My post on Goji Berries has inspired me to explore more on Chinese Medicinal Soup and Beverages. It is absolutely amazing how Chinese herbs can do wonders to the body.

Since the influenza season is near, I am sure that you would want to prevent yourself from the flu. With that, the traditional Chinese medicine that is often use to to aid in recovery from influenza is the Chrysanthemum Tea. Because of its “cooling” properties, this tea can also aid in the prevention of sore throat and promote the reduction of fever.

To prepare the tea, you will need:

  • 10 – 20 Golden Chrysanthemum Tea
  • 1 – 3 teaspoon of honey or rock sugar
  • 3 cups (850ml) of water

Method:

  1. Wash and drain chrysanthemum flowers.
  2. Add 10 – 20 yellow chrysanthemum flowers into teapot.
  3. Add 1 – 3 teaspoon of honey or rock sugar. ***
  4. Pour boiling water on to content.
  5. Allow tea to stand for 5 minutes.
  6. Pour tea into cup and allow to cool slightly before drinking.

*** To add a bit of variation, you can add a few Goji berries into the tea too. This would definitely increase the medicinal value of this tea
