Are You Wild on Goji?

In recent years, Goji Berries (aka Wolfberries) have been heavily promoted worldwide as a nutritional powerhouse.
It is true that Goji Berries are highly nutritional, after all, Goji berries have been used for 6,000 years by herbalists in China, Tibet and India to:
- protect the liver
- help eyesight
- improve sexual function and fertility
- strengthen the legs
- boost immune function
- improve circulation
- promote longevity
After Earl Mindell discovered the “secret” of Goji, that’s the start of the growing trend of the Himalayan Goji Juice. Goji Juice has become a popular health beverage!
For a 32-ounce bottle of Goji Juice, consumers are willing to spend a whooping $50 on it! In actual fact, these berries used in traditional Chinese medicine aren’t very expensive. But, the Goji Juice you get from some health food stores, online stores, and through network marketers is very pricey.
I reckon you do pay for the research being done, marketing, packaging and etc….. Anyway, I find it rather hard to justify the cost of Goji Juice.
If you want to enjoy Goji in an inexpensive way, you can purchase the whole Goji Berries from the Chinese Herbal Shops.
There are a few ways to serve Goji and here is how:
1. Eat from the pack as a snack. It is like how you would eat Raisins as a mid-afternoon pick-me-up.
2. Add to your favourite muffin or muesli recipe.
3. Infuse 10-15 gojis in boiling water for 3 minutes for tea.
4. Sprinkle a handful over muesli or add to plain yogurt.

My local health-food store sells them in tyny packs, for a dollar. I get them almost all the time as a tiny snack… Couldn’t possibly justify $50 though. Besides, they are more nutritious dry then juiced anyways :-)
