Have a problem with the dreaded “dandruff?” Here’s the “sure cure” and you’ll find it in your kitchen. Vinegar!

Yes, it is just off your kitchen cupboard and you do not need to spend a dime on expensive and probably not effective anti-dandruff shampoo! ;)

Just take 1/4 cup or so and pour some vinegar onto your head. Then massage it to your scalp and leave it on for 10 minutes or so. After that, wash your hair like you would normally do after you add shampoo or conditioner. Once you have washed your hair, towel dry it. NEVER EVER Use Hair Blowers! Hair blowers can reduce the activity of the vinegar taking place on your scalp. It burns out the vinegar.

After towel dry, simply add conditioner on your head and then wash it and towel dry it. That’s all you need to do!

Keep doing this everyday in my morning when you wake up and it’ll work like a charm! Doing this will also add shine to your hair and it will look healthier then before. :)

Following my hair woes , I have looked for other split end home remedies and here are some of my findings:

Mix well 1 teaspoon of Castor oil, mustard oil and olive oil. Massage the scalp for at least 30mins and apply it to the full length of hair. Cover the head with a hot towel.

Mix 1tspn of almond oil with 1 egg yolk and apply it to your scalp as well as hair. Wash it after ½ an hour.

Hair moisturizing mask made of mashed up avocado when applied to damp hair will prevent split ends effectively. Make sure you leave it on your hair for at least 15-30 minutes. You can also add hot olive oil to it.

More Hair Tips:

Shampoo your hair after every workout or strenuous exercise, as due to perspiration the salt will erode your hair.

Apply regular conditioner after every wash and deep conditioner once a month.

Dandruff can be stress-related and ranges in severity, from a mild case to an inflammatory condition requiring specialist help.

Here is a home remedy that can help treat the problem.

You will need:

30ml apple cider vinegar

10 drops pure cedarwood essential oil

10 drops pure rosemary essential oil

5 drops pure tea tree essential oil

Method:

1. Put the ingredients into a dark glass bottle and shake well.

2. Divide the hair into sections and, with a dampened cotton-wool pad, rub the lotion all over the scalp.

3. Let it dry naturally and leave it on overnight if possible.

4. Wash with a gentle shampoo and rinse hair thoroughly.

by Sharon Hopkins

We all love our hair and would not mind taking that extra step to take care them. For beautiful, lustrous and shiny hair use these simple home remedies.

• A tea and beer rinse is one of the oldest ways to bring shine to your hair. Boil used tea leaves in enough water, let it cool and then use this liquid as the last rinse.

• In the similar fashion you can use flat beer (i.e. after letting the fizz out). This is a great conditioner to be used for your hair.

• Lemon juice mixed with water can also be used as a last rinse to give your hair a shiny and bouncy look.

• A shiny look is also provided if you use vinegar for your final rinse.

• To bring that shine one can use honey to keep your scalp moisturized. You can make honey lotion for your hair by mixing 3 teaspoons of honey for pint of water.

• The use of henna as a natural conditioner proves to be very beneficial for your hair. It helps to bring back the bounce and flair of your hair which has been lacking for quite a while.

• You can add small amount of baking soda in the shampoo which, removes dirt and grease from your hair to give you the shiny look.

• To remove the dirt and other matter from your hair you can use one fourth cup of apple cider vinegar in one gallon of condensed water. This can be stored in the refrigerator and can be used every two weeks for clean, smooth, silky and shiny hair. The proper way to use this solution is to wet your hair with warm water, shampoo it later rinse it. Pour two cups of this mixture and leave it in your hair for sometime. The last stage is to rinse your hair with cold-water.

• To get that extra shine for your hair brew one cup of strong espresso, let it cool. Pour the espresso over your dry hair and leave it for 20 minutes. Rinse it to get the extra shine and glow.

• You can also make Egg shampoo at home which requires 1 egg, 1 teaspoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 1 tablespoon castile soap, 1/2 a cup water or herbal tea and last but not the least 5 drops of essential oils of your choice. Blend all these together to make an Egg shampoo which can bring shine to your hair.

• Many of us who want to clean their hair use shampoos. Try this for a change, massage baking soda into your hair and scalp. This absorbs oil and loosens the dead skin on the scalp. Rinse it thoroughly with water. In the initial stages the hair would be dry but after several weeks you would be dandruff free with smooth and shiny hair.

The Citrus Spritzer is one of my favorite natural toners that is easy and cheap to make. On top of that, your skin will visibly repay you.

This toner is excellent for oily skin and we will need two main ingredients – lemon juice and rosemary.

Lemon juice is a strong astringent, so you will need only a small amount. Whereas rosemary is a light astringent and it is indeed invigorating.

You will need:

1 tsp fresh lemon juice

4 tbsp witch hazel

2 tbsp fresh rosemary leaves

150 ml purified water, boiling coffee filter paper

2 drops of pure petitgrain essential oil

Method:

1. Pour the boiling water over the rosemary leaves, cover and leave for 30 minutes

2. Strain off the leaves, using coffee filter paper

3. Put all the ingredients into a bottle and shake until thoroughly mixed.

You can refrigerate this zesty toner and use within 3 days. Enjoy ! :)

Hereditary balding can’t be reversed but you can help counteract hair loss due to stress or ill-health. Use the following blend at least once a month:

2 tbsp clear honey

1 tbsp almond oil

2 drops pure cedarwood essential oil

2 drops pure rosemary essential oil

1 drop pure lemon essential oil

Mix the ingredients in a small china dish. Apply the mixture to the scalp. Wrapy your head in a small towel, which has been soaked in a litre of rosemary tea (make with 60g drief or 150g fresh rosemary). Leave the treatment on for at least half an hour. Wash the mixture out of the hair carefully with a mild shampoo. Two application may be necessary.
