The Mikado has a velvety leaves and long stems which display initially golden enclosed buds, forming cute creamy-white button flowers.

I reckon it fits really well in a modern home and from my conversation with the florist, it is not too difficult to maintain. You have to make certain that the soil remain moist. Also, this plant prefers to be in a humid condition and high light.

Today is Earth Hour day (March 29, 2008)

Approximately in an hour (Brisbane time), cities across the world will turn off their lights for just one hour. This is a very strong and powerful movement to show that it is possible to take action on global warming.

You can actually make a difference NOW to help to reduce the effect of global warming. Simple actions like switching off can make a difference and it sends a powerful message that the people of the world care about the future of the planet.

To make things happen, sign up for Earth Hour and commit to turning off your lights on March 29th from 8pm to 9pm. If you are currently residing in Brisbane, you still have another 40 minutes to commit.

You can make a huge difference by unplugging any appliances – mobile phone charger, TV, microwave, MP3 player, computer monitor, printer that are not being used and are on standby. By doing so, you are doing yourself and your wallet a big favor! This is because appliances left on standby account for up to 10% of the average household’s electricity use.

Up to now, there are 19,914 businesses and 283,357 people have signed up to take action! Be one of them!

… but I have not tasted the best water in the world yet.

A UN report on the world’s water situation says that the best water in the world is to be found in Finland.

A report published at the Third World Water Forum in Kyoto listed 122 countries in order from the best to the worst in terms of the quality of their water.

After Finland came Canada, New Zealand, Great Britain and Japan.

I wonder how would the taste of the best water in the world be like. Hmm….

I just did a WordPress upgrade (2.3) and I am experiencing some serious database error. I reckon you will face the same error too when you browse through the Categories… :(

Initially, I thought it was some tables were dropped during the upgrade or a database error is occurring at the hardware-level. After some checks, it looks very much like the later. I did a database restore and the error still persist.

So, I did a search and it looks like others had experienced the same problem too. Currently, the help I have gone through has advised me to deactivate my Google Sitemap plugin, but this doesn’t seem to work.

I am still searching for a solution… so please bear with me while I fix this.

UPDATES

4:30pm – It looks like I will have to deactivate and reactivate the plugin one by one to find the culprit. Gee…this is quite an ordeal.

4:45pm – I just found a list of incompatible plugins here! I am going through the list to pin-point plugins that are not compatible with this WordPress 2.3

5:000pm – I have deactivated all “suspect” plugins and I am reactivating them. Feel like banging my head on the wall…haha :P

5:03pm -Need to seek new solutions.

5:30pm – According to this post by Ryan Boren, “post2cat, and link2cat tables were dropped and replaced by three new tables. Plugins that reference the old tables will break.”

6:42pm -After going through countless of blogs and forums, I have found my “bug”:

It appears to be that the method is querying the wrong table and wrong field name.

Problem fixed! :)
