Acres of Apples, Frugal to the Core

I’ve always dreamed of having an apple tree in my back yard. You know the old saying, “be careful what you wish for?” Now that I actually have my own apple tree, I stand in my yard watching the apples piling up around me thinking, “Oh no — What do I do with this mess now?!” If I could make gasoline out of apples, I could retire, but since that is not an option and my frugal mind will not allow me to waste one apple, I have had to come up with some yummier “apple disposal” methods.

Microwave pop-corn is the simplest stay-at-home movie night snack. However, before you start “nuking” that bag of popcorn into the microwave, think again!
According to a report from FDA, the chemical coating used in microwave popcorn bags breaks down when heated into a substance called perflurooctanoic (PFOA). PFOA is an acid that can be extracted from the chemical causes cancer in animals and it is “likely carcinogen” to humans.

So I now start my day with either fresh-juiced green drink from a mixture of wheatgrass and other green vegetables or this wonderful smoothie. With in four days of this regimen, I began to feel more energy and I no longer have the energy crash when I eat. Blueberries are full of antioxidants, which destroy free radicals in your body.

Fruitylicious Salad

I think the easiest way to have 5 a day Fruit and Vegetables is colorful mixture of freshly cut fruit. I find the bright and inviting color of a fruit salad is warm and delightful way to motivate oneself to eat the recommended intake of fruit and vegetable a day, particularly with the kids.
