Mascara is a girl’s best friend. When worn properly, mascara helps to enhance our eyes by thicken, darken and add definition to the eyelashes. Most mascaras are made from film formers, wax thickeners, dyes and combination of water and nerve-damaging preservatives. Sounds bad huh?

To add to the nasty list, some mascaras contain petroleum derivatives and synthetic fibers such as nylon or rayon which are left on the lashes to add length and thickness.

The next time you put on the mascara you are actually applying all those chemicals in and around your eyes. If you have second thoughts about this (and you should..), you can opt for natural mascaras.

While it is difficult to find all-natural mascara that doesn’t contain one bad thing or another, anyone buying it should always strive to buy something as pure as they can.
