What to do with Leftover Tea Leaves?

After enjoying a cup of tea, what do you do with the tea leaves? Throwing them away is wasteful and re-using them again will give a weak, stale-tasting cup of tea.

You can use tea leaves in a variety ways around the house and never waste them again.

The best way to use leftover tea leaves is as plant fertilizers.

Used tea leaves are rich in organic nutrients plants need. Let the tea leaves soak in water for several days, strain the leaves and pour the water into plants. Be sure to strain all the tea leaves because moist, rotten tea leaves can attract harmful bugs.

Absolutely, don’t throw those tea leaves away! They go into my compost to be eventually used as fertilizer rich in antioxidants. Even tea bags can be composted, after snipping off any staples that hold them shut. Thanks for bringing up this important topic.

    Thanks for your info.

Agree with Carrie Boyko. Leftover teabag also has similar uses as leftover tea leaves.

I’ve found 6 uses in “Don’t Throw Your Teabags Away” (http://www.hewo.com/article.aspx?id=295)
