When to Detox?
I have blogged about the 7 Days Detox Plan not too long ago and I must stressed that while it is good to follow a detox plan, but you cannot go overboard with extreme detox plans (i.e fruit juice diets or fasting diets) ?
These detox plans may sound very healthful and a fast-forward way to a body cleanse, but they may do more harm than good by disturbing electrolyte balance and causing the loss of muscle. Therefore, you cannot go on a detox plans that stretches for months. Moderation is the key to anything and so also to detoxification diets.
So, when do you go on a detox?
Your body is intelligent enough to tell you when you should go on a detox. Start listening to your body and if you have the following signs and symptoms of a toxic body, it means you need one:
- Overweight
- Insomnia
- Asthma
- Tension
- Menstrual Problem
- Constipation
- Allergies
- Coated tongue
- Nausea
- Intestinal Bloat/Gas
- Poor Memory
- Brittle Nails and hair
- Poor skin irritability
- Fatigue
- Headaches
- Skin discoloration
- Depression
- Acne
- Abnormal body odor
- Poor digestion
- Bad breath
These signs and symptoms would indicate that you need a liver detox and/or colon cleanse, depending on your condition.
Before you decide to go on a liver detox or a colon cleanse, don’t forget to consult your doctor. Getting into a detox regime with the knowledge and approval of your doctor or a qualified nutritionist is the best way to go about it. ;)
